JAMB 2020 Change Of Course, Institution And Data Correction: What You Need to Know

The portal for Change of Institution, Course and Data correction has been opened since July 1st, 2020, but a lot of students are having one issue or another on the process. I’ve processed this change for a good number of Students and some candidates have confirmed that they were able to process their changes at accredited centres and JAMB offices. So I urge other candidates who wish to change their course/ institution to proceed to an accredited centre or JAMB office for that purpose, you can also send me a message if need be. You can also correct your Bio-data which include your name, date of birth, gender, State and Local Government of origin.

But you can’t change your Phone number, email or Subject Combination.

The process costs a minimum of #3200 and Maximum of #4000 (including remita and CBT centre charges) and can only be processed online, just like every other process of the board.

Before you proceed to do that, please make sure you do the following;
-Be sure of the Course/Institution you would like to make changes. Verify if the course is available in the school using the JAMB BRONCHURE
-Be sure that the school you are changing to does not have a cut-off mark higher than your score.

Ensure you select a Course in line with your UTME/Olevel subject combination to avoid being screened out during your school’s admission screening exercise.
-Don’t equally forget to get the Post-UTME Past Questions And Answers of the school you are changing to. You can click HERE to get yours

Process Flow
Step 1– Log into your Jamb Profile via Jamb Portal (Preferably Use Chome/Opera Browser or a laptop) with your email and password.
Step 2– open the Menu tab on your jamb profile or use search button
Step 3- Click Registration (2020 Only), under registeration a drop box will appear showing 2020 UTME Data Correction >> Choice of Institution /Choice Correction
Step 4– Click it and follow the steps to pay either online or bank. You can make your payment online via JAMB portal. If you are having difficulties doing that, you can pay to the bank. Be careful so that you won’t do double payment. Payments to Jamb are non refundable.
Step 5– After making the payment of #2500 plus additional bank charge of N170 naira.

Once this step is successful, an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to your phone number fron JAMB, it’ll be in form of SMS confirming your payment. This code is needed by CBT centers to Process your code. Without the code, no change can be made. What is OTP about? I have not received it.
Now you have the code, proceed to either the closest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited centre or send me a message to complete the process. An additional fee will be charged for the service.
The 3 steps are: Payment to JAMB>> You’ll receive the OTP >> Then Your Change will be done.

Note: You can carry out all of the above processes at an accredited centre or JAMB Office or send me a message.
If someone is doing it for you, you can track the process by doing the following:
Login to your Jamb Profile, Click on My Payments after Login
This is where all your payments made to Jamb are stored:
When the First process has been done,that is payment to Jamb, you’ll see “Approved (Not Used)” >> at this point you would have received the OTP… If you see “Pending” it means no payment has been made to Jamb., hence you can’t receive the code.
When the Change has been done, you’ll see “Approved (Used)”. It means you’ve successfully done Change of Course/Instituition. The print out is always in form of PDF, can be printed out if at CBT centre or sent to you via any sending platform.
Also, note the following;

-You can change one or all your courses/institutions at the same time.

-Once the form is submitted, you can no longer make any changes again except for change of course and institution that can be done more than one. The correction of data can only be done once.
-There may be a limited number of schools or courses you can change to, so be sure to have 3 or 4 options, just in case the one you want to change to is not available.

-With the new policy, if you’ve lost your SIM card attached to your Jamb profile, it may be difficult for you to Change your Course or Institution because of the code. You can visit your network provider to get that SIM back.

-According to this new policy, only CBT centers(Accredited by Jamb) Or Jamb offices can do the Change of Course or institution, not a cybercafe and you can’t do it with your phone.

You can do Change of Institution /Course more than once, only with separate payments.

Have a Successful Admission Year.

    1. If the data correction isn’t Change of Course or institution.. It takes a long time to change. I’ll suggest you visit JAMB office. Or raise a support ticket on support.jamb.gov.ng
